Changing a host city for the 2022 World Cup?
I was surprised. Qatar might not be able to host the 2022 World Cup because of its too high temperature.
So why was Qatar chosen the host city in the first place?
The article;
http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/09/22/us-soccer-qatar-fifa-zwanziger-idUSKCN0HH1C820140922?utm_source=Facebook
According to another site;
Many foreign workers are working for construction of the World Cup venue under harsh situation, and more than 100 workers have died.
And, there is a suspicion that there was exchanging dirty money when bidding to host.

The doors should be opend wider. - Emblem soliciting
One of the LinkedIn members introduced a British designer who has already created the set of emblems for the Tokyo Olympics.
Look at his designs.

He also mocked up photos to show how it would all look.
Amazing!!

There are many talented designers all over the world.
I wonder why the TOCOG doesn't open the doors to everyone in the world.
I've heard that there are only 300 people who fill the application requirements, and most of them are Japanese.

Soliciting the emblem design
The Tokyo Organizing Committee has started soliciting the design of an emblem for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
I was surprised to hear that because I had thought all along that the following was the emblem for the Tokyo Olympics.
Oops! It seems to be the emblem for bid to host the Olympics. Big misunderstanding!!
And, I liked this emblem, so I hope the emblem for the Olympics is greater than it.

Olympics volunteers come from all over the world.
It's been a week since the volunteer registration for the Rio Olympics started.
http://www.olympic.org/news/past-games-inspire-rio-2016-volunteer-applications/237489
According to the site, about 40% of the applicants are from countries outside the host nation. It's surprising for me. I didn't thought that volunteers from outside the host nation account for so high percentage. They are from more than 160 countries!
Many of them are from China, the UK and Russia, which recently hosted the Olympics.
And about 60% of candidates have already taken part in some kind of volunteering in the past.
Oops!! For the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, many experienced volunteers come from all over the world.
I have to have some kind of competitive edge!?

Kei Nishikori became a finalist in the US Open!
Yesterday at US Open tennis, Kei Nishikori became the first Asian man to reach a Grand Slam singles final! Great job!!!!!
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/tennis/29096972
We are very excited about that here in Japan.
Actually, it was already a big news when he defeated Milos Raonic, ATP Ranking 6, and placed in the Top 8.
However, his remarkable breakthrough is continuing.
In the quarter final, He defeated an ATP Ranking 4 player, Stanislas Wawrinka!
GREAT!!!!!
At this point, I don't think many people thought he proceeded to the final game ,because the opponent in the semi-final was ATP Ranking 1, Novak Djokovic.
However he won. He brought off!
At the same time, ATP Ranking 2 player, Roger Federer was defeated in the semi-final.
So the final game is Kei Nishikori (Ranking 11) vs. Marin Cilic (ranking 16).
Nishikori might be able to win!!!!!
He is now 24 years old. He will be 30 years old when the Tokyo Olympics takes place. I think that it's possible for him to get a medal then.

The number of volunteers
The registration tutorial of the Rio Olympics says the number of volunteers is 70,000.
I've heard the Tokyo Olympics would have 80,000 volunteers.
Almost the same size.

The Volunteer Selection Process for Rio
The volunteer registration for the Rio Olympics has sarted, and the website shows a bit more detials of the selection process.
According to the site;
28 August 1014 to 15 November 2014
Registration is open
October 2014
Online dynamics
It seems to be online trainng in order to know about the Olympics and working as a volunteer.
November 2014
Applications close and language levelling starts
It seems that a kiind of screening is conducted by this stage and all registrants can proceed to this phase. (I guess)
February 2015 to May 2016
Beginning of the interview process
June 2015
Letter of Invitation
November 2015 to June 2016
Start of training sessions
March 2016
SHIFTS
It seems that the volunteers get to know programs they work.
July 2016
Accreditation
August and September 2016
YOUR ROLE
I guess that the Tokyo Olympics would coduct this kind process with plenty of time to spare、considering Japanese charactor.
The website also says that the volunteers will be able to take part in Aquece Rio, the Rio 2016 test event programme that gets underway in the second half of 2015.
I didn't know that there is "a test event."
