Terrible assignment - Yasushi Akimoto

It's been a while since I posted the last article.

During that, there are several affairs about the Tokyo Olympics.

17th March
Fujio Mitarai, who is a chairman of CANON, was appointed Honorary President of Tokyo 2020.

At the same time, many people were added to the Executive Board, including Yasushi Akimoto.
Boooooooo------------!!!!!!!!!!

I booed when Former Prime Minister, Mori was assigned to the head of the committee.

But I boo much more this time!!!

His appointment has been criticized much. In fact, signature-collecting campaigns against his appointment have been conducted.

Terrible. Really terrible!

  1. Hello. It's nice to see you blogging again.

I didn't know who Yasushi Akimoto was and wondered why you objected to his appointment. I've now read a little about him, and it's hard to see what he could usefully contribute. Has any statement been made about the intentions for his role in the committee? Please write something about why you don't like his appointment, and who you would prefer to see instead.

  2. Hello Tim!

It's been a while. Thank you for visiting and reading my new blog!!

    The reasons why I'm against his appointment are;
    One is,
He is a producer of very popular girl group called AKB. His unscrupulous way for making money has been controversial. It is called "AKB business method". Whenever some bad business comes up, it's often said that it might be more vicious than AKB business method. haha.

    The other reason is,
The AKB's concept is "ordinary girls". They are not as cute as they usually can become idols under normal conditions. That's OK, but the issue is that their skills as a singer are also ordinary, or rather terrible. It has been said that now that he joined the Executive Board, he may use his AKB as one of the performers for the opening ceremony because he is such a making-money business man. No way! It will definitely spoil the ceremony and it's the shame of Japan.

  3. Thanks for your detailed answer. I can see the reason for your original comments. Let's hope that he is forced out or that his decisions do not dominate the production of the opening cermony entertainment.

I wonder, though, whether AKB48 will still exist in 2020. Well, if not, then I suppose he will try to involve one of his current performers of that time. On the other hand, thinking about the London 2012 opening ceremony, quite a few "oldies" from British popular music were there, including a temporarily reformed Spice Girls. So anything is possible.

I will keep reading this interesting blog to compare the way the planning and organization of Tokyo 2020 compares with London 2012. There are some other issues I might ask you about.

  4. Yes, I'm pretty sure that he will try to involved in the opening ceremony or other parts for commercial purpose. No----!

I was surprised that Spice Girls were reformed for the Olympics! haha. I think the London opening ceremony was very good. London was successful in the Olympics.
