The TOCOG has listed the volunteer activities referring to the London and Rio Olympics, and it's as follows;
(the information is from the Volunteer Strategy by TOCOG.)
Guidance at venues
Doping control
Driver
Workforce registration
Uniform distribution
Media support
Language services
Support for teams
Logistic support
Support for rental services
Support for sustainability and recycling
Support for issue of IDs
Event operation support
Medical support
Speaking of Olympic Volunteers, I come up with "Guidance at venues" and "Event operation support." Hmm... there are many other kind of volunteers.
I'm interested in "Support for teams."
The explanation of this role is that "Support the teams that come from around the world. Start preparations prior to the teams entering the Olympic Village to facilitate a comfortable stay."
Athletes are always ignored in Olympic games, and many kinds of interests for someone have been having a priority, though athletes should come first.
I want to support athletes.
Also, I have wanted to get inside the Olympics Village!
But I guess high skills of languages athletes speaks are required for this role.
There are too many people who speak English and my French is not enough at all.
