The Mascots Official Debut

It's been 5 months since the mascots for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics were decided.

Today, their names were revealed.

Left: Olympic Mascot MIRAITOWA
MIRAI means "future" and TOWA means "eternity."

Right: Paralympic Mascot SOMEITY
It's a combination of an English word "so mighty" and "someiyoshino" which is representative cherry blossoms of Japan.

Then, the official licensed products of the mascots arrived in stores today.
